Summary: | https links. |
Description: | Currently, the system catches links that start with http:// and automatically turns them into hyperlinks, but the same is not true for https:// links. |

I might add that ftp:// links should be supported too, even if there's only a very slim chance that an artist serves his/her artwork files in an FTP file listing linked from his/her website. Modern browsers nonetheless support listing directories and files through the FTP protocol, so it wouldn't hurt to turn ftp:// addresses to links. |

Could we perhaps get some attention on this? I'd like high grade https implemented soon. I'd donate on patreon if this was added as a goal btw. Extremely important to me. |

@chodorov: This ticket isn't for implenting https on the site, but rather for fixing the code that turns URLs into hyperlinks in comments, forum posts, etc. |

I just want to point out something of possible relevance. Every time I go to post a link to https and manually remove the "s" before posting I can click on the link and it takes me to the correct URL anyway. Sure it's an extra step for the one posting the link but it works, at least for me. YouTube links especially. Not sure if possible because of my browser, this web site or the site that is linked to though. |

Probably the browser. https is usually done on a different port from regular http, so a browser that doesn't know about this might run into issues (for example, the mass tagger, my implicator, or the danbooru tag import bot). |
